Short about Department of Construction Technology and Management

The Department of Construction Technology and Management is one of ten departments of the Construction Faculty (which has already celebrated the 40-year jubilee in 2010) is famous for the fact that it gave birth to several other departments: in 1975, the Department of Building Materials, in 1985, the Department of the Safety of Labour and Environment and, in 2001, the Department of Building Economy and Real Estate Management were established.

This Department is highly productive. Every year, a great number of Bachelors and Masters of Science graduate from it, and dissertations for the Doctor’s degree are successfully defended. The number of scientific publications is also very impressive because every year more than 100 articles are published, and many appear in the most prestigious databases in the world.

Now, the staff of the Department consists of 18 teachers, specializing in the following branches of studies and research: determination of the effectiveness of investments in construction, roof installation and repair, multicriteria decision support systems in construction, management of total quality of projects, modelling and prediction in construction, the sectors of housing and real estate and power reliability of constructions.

The departments is responsible for the first-stage study programme ‘Construction Technology and Management’ (612J80001) and the specialization ‘Construction Technology and Management’ of the second-stage study programme ‘Construction Technology and Management’ (621J80003).
